Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Lake Parks Foundation with this free event June 15, 2019! Pallister Day honors Hugh and Gretta Shipman Pallister, founding members of The Lake Parks Foundation and lifelong donors.

Because of the generosity of our donors we have provided funding toward:
- Scholarships and camperships for children to participate in programs focused on education
- Helping care for thousands of orphaned and injured animals at the nationally recognized state-of-the-art Kevin P. Clinton Wildlife Center at Penitentiary Glen Reservation
- Capital projects throughout the Lake Metroparks system including providing hands-on learning experiences
- Land conservation and stream preservation
Hugh & Gretta Shipman Pallister
- Founding members of The Lake Parks Foundation & lifelong donors
- Spent their lives promoting the cause of conservation
- Contributed towards Kevin P. Clinton Wildlife Center, Lake Metroparks Farmpark and land preservation
- Active in preserving Mentor Marsh, Headlands Beach Dunes, Hach-Otis Woodlands
- Gretta’s father and his friends started the Burroughs Nature Club
- Hugh’s aunt donated her property for the 80-acre Pallister State Nature Preserve in Ashtabula County
- Hugh & Gretta were inducted into the Ohio Conservation Hall of Fame for their long standing work in conservation
- Gretta honored her father, Charles M. Shipman, by establishing the Shipman Fund in which park professionals are given the opportunity to expand their education
